July 31, 1949 - March 28, 2024
“Grief is the last act of love we give to our loved one. Where there is deep grief, there is deep love.”
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
After a long courageous battle with cancer, Loraine passed away peacefully at Hospice Simcoe surrounded by family on March 28th at the age of 74.
Loraine spent all her life in the Utopia area. She shared the past 57 years with her beloved husband and best friend Jim. She was immensely proud of her 3 children Terry (Jane), Tina and Tammy (Dave), her 6 grandchildren, Edward, James (Veronika), Kianna (Ben), TJ, Lisa and Christopher and her sweet great granddaughter Lily.
Loraine is predeceased by her loving parents Leonard and Hilda Tracy, her twin sister Linda and brother Raymond. Dear sister Rainy to Ronald Tracy (late Ethel), Shirley McAllister (late Paul), Gloria Sullivan (late Gordon), Bonnie Young and Stanley Tracy. She will be sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews, great friends, and extended family.
Loraine loved nothing more than spending time with her friends and family at social gatherings, outings with her sisters, camping jamborees, and especially summers on their boat and winters in Florida. She always had a special place in her heart for her little dogs and an enormous passion for crafts.
Loraine worked for many years at Radio Shack and retired from the Simcoe County District School Board (Fredrick Campbell PS) where she was loved, respected and admired by all the staff and students she meant over the years. Loraine was the most caring, kind, generous woman you’d ever meet. She will always have a special place in our hearts and will be missed greatly.
A special thank you to all the staff and volunteers at Hospice Simcoe and her dear sister-in-law Violet.
