Passed away peacefully at the IOOF Long Term Care Home in Barrie on December 26, 2022.
Helen was born on May 14, 1931 in Barrie, ON, daughter of Joe and Ruby Cochrane of Innisfil.
Predeceased by her younger brothers Donald (Margaret) of Ivy and Beverly (Evelyn) of Utopia. Loving mother of the late Dale (Sherrie) McGirr, Dean (Karin) McGirr, Diane (Mel) Van Ruyskensvelde, Donna (Gerry) McGirr and David McGirr. Survived by her grandchildren Angela, Steven, Russell, Christopher and Emily. Great grandmother to Zoe, Hayley, Taytum, Hayden, Nyla and Hunter.
Helen grew up on the family farm on the fifth side road of Innisfil Township. She loved music, dancing, gardening, quilting and had a special place in her heart for animals of any kind.
At Helen's and the family's request, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be arranged at a later date.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the IOOF Long Term Care/Parkinson's Research would be appreciated by the family.
