Passed away peacefully on June 30th, 2024, at the age of 94 years. Hank was born in Amsterdam, Holland. Beloved husband of the late Maria “Ria” of 68 years. He was a loving brother to Diane (Jack), and to sister-in-law to Antonia “Toni” (Gord). He was loved by his nephews and nieces, Bob, Mary-Anne, Jerry, Ron, and Quinton. Hank immigrated to Canada at the age of 24, embarking on a new life with strength and courage. Hank settled in Nobleton where he and his wife Ria built their very first home together. They later moved to Newmarket then Midhurst to live near their family and eventually retired in Barrie. Hank was a very skilled tradesman in tile work and building 4 homes for Ria and himself, including the design and blue printing. Hank in his later years worked in maintenance at a home for children for several years.

Hank and Ria loved travelling in their RV throughout North America, leisurely seeing places at their own pace. Hank loved to bake and cook, including traditional Dutch dishes.

Hank also kept busy reading many detective novels and watching movies, He also had a great love for building very detailed plastic cars and truck models and setting up train sets in the past. He was very supportive of Ria’s sewing hobby at the same time. Hank also had a love of dogs which included his beloved Sheba and Misty. A private cremation has taken place.
