On July 23, 2024, Barbara Anne Dion of the Cities of Barrie, Ontario, and Burlington, Ontario, passed away peacefully at the age of 88 years with her family by her side. She will be lovingly remembered by her aunt Marie Mills, her sister Geraldine MacPherson, her husband’s sister and brother-in-law Claudette & Harvey Wark, nephews Douglas (Lori) MacPherson and John MacPherson, and nieces Laurie (Paul) LeMay and Heidi (Rick) Rogers, great nephews Brent (Meagan) MacPherson and Evan MacPherson and great nieces Sophia (Jack) Lawson and Jessica LeMay. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 33 years, Jean-Guy Dion in 1999, and parents Charles Edward Browne in 2004 and Helen Marie Browne in 2001.

Barbara was born in Smooth Rock Falls, Ontario, in 1936, and moved with her parents and sister to Toronto and Burlington. She later moved to Hamilton and Montreal, Quebec, and various other small towns and villages across Quebec. Barbara was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1949, and used her life in the volunteer Bible education ministry in the provinces of Ontario and Quebec.

Barbara married her husband Jean-guy Dion in 1966. Jean-Guy and Barb loved life. Barb loved the beach, collecting seashells and shark’s teeth, swimming, skiing, roller-blading, horseback riding, hiking and gardening. She even went water skiing in her late 70’s. But her greatest joy was helping people get answers to their questions using the bible.

A memorial will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at 3 pm, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 4025 Mainway, Burlington, ON L7M 2L7
