Pat passed away on Tuesday, June 25 at Hospice Simcoe, Barrie at the age of 67. She was a compassionate individual whose kindness touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her proudest accomplishments revolved around the love and care she poured into her family, creating a legacy of warmth and unity that will endure through generations.
Pat had a passion for gardening, finding solace and joy in nurturing plants and creating vibrant outdoor spaces. Her green thumb was matched only by her skill in various indoor hobbies such as playing games and engaging in sewing, knitting, and crocheting. These activities not only brought her personal fulfillment but also allowed her to create beautiful memories with family and friends whom she held dear.
The memory of Pat's loving nature and gentle spirit will be forever cherished by her surviving family members. Beloved wife of Mario for 51 years. Loving mother to Melissa Hiltz (Jeremy), Giancarlo Di Rocco (Denise Escobar), and Daniel Di Rocco. Cherished grandmother to Jacob and Samuel Hiltz. Dear sister to Adriaan Hammer (Genevieve), Jacoba "Joyce" Peetsma (Nick), and Wilhelmina "Laurie" Kippers (Ernest). Predeceased by her parents Adriaan and Aplonia (nee Woudenberg) Hammer.
A Visitation to celebrate Pat's life will be held at Legacy Funeral Home 55 Cedar Pointe Drive, Barrie (parking and entrance on Hwy 400 side of building) on Friday, June 28. from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., providing an opportunity for all who knew Pat to come together, share memories, and celebrate the remarkable life she lived.
Memorial donations to Hospice Simcoe or the RVH Cancer Centre would be appreciated by the family.
