(November 22, 1962-January 12, 2018) - It is with deep sorrow that the Doucette Family of Horseshoe Valley informs you of the home going of a dear wife and mother, daughter, sister, niece, aunt, and friend to many, Anne Frances Doucette. Anne, at the age of 55 slipped peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Friday, January 12, 2018 at 5:50 am at Hospice Simcoe in Barrie, after living life to the fullest while battling with ALS. Anne was a loving and energetic mother to 5 beautiful children, Kaelan, Austin, Faith, Bryton and Eli and beautiful wife to John. She was a sister to Linda Veysey, Mary Jardine, Eva Foran and predeceased by brother Herbie Whalen, mother Helen Whalen, father, Herbert Whalen and Aunt Patricia Whalen.
Anne whose name means “God has favoured me” chose to live a life of faith, fun and fellowship with family and friends, making every moment a meaningful memory. “It’s all about the memories” was one of Anne’s favourite sayings. Anne used to always say she had two speeds-stop and go. This proved to be true as Anne went full out, blessing everyone she encountered, right up to the very end of her life here on earth. Her heart was full of love, her stories were full of laughter and her home was full of people. She had a way of uniting her family and her community and everyone who knew her was blessed. Anne loved to share with everyone the Source of the love which overflowed from her heart and that is the Love of Christ. It was His spirit living within her that gave her the strength to face each day, the reason to keep on living and a confident hope for the future. She lived each day standing on the promises of God. She is now dancing with Jesus and loved ones for eternity.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: 1) ALS Research at Sunnybrook, Or 2) The Childrens’ Education Fund through We Unite. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at 1:00 at the Heights Ski and Country Club in Horseshoe Valley. Bright coloUred clothing is welcome!
