ECKER, Gail

Gail Ecker, 68, of Orillia Ontario, passed away September 2, 2024, with family by her side.

She was born to the late Robert Charles Allen and Dorothy Helen Mallery December 30, 1955 along with sisters Shirley Anne Lagace (nee Allen) (d. 2000) (Arthur Lagace) (d. 2021) and Lynda Lee Miller (nee Allen) (Paul Miller) in Prince George BC. She graduated from Barrie Central in 1973.

Gail joined the LCBO at the Mary Street location in 1978. She developed her career there through progressively responsible positions at LCBO head office Toronto, culminating in the position of Senior Manager, Leadership and Organizational Development. She was adored by all who had the pleasure of working with her.

She married Thomas Clifford Posie in 1981. Together they had two children, Thomas Posie (Sarah Beatty) and Laureen Posie.

She later remarried Roy Walter Ecker in 2000, bringing Roy’s children Emma and Matthew Ecker into her family as well.

She was also loving Gramma G to Lauren, Jack, Sophia, Malcolm, and Jacob and Aunt Gail to loving nieces and nephews Leslie, Brenda, Sherri, Dale, Crystal, Melissa, and Meghan.

Gail and Roy loved to travel, creating many beautiful pieces of stained glass art. She was happiest when surrounded by family and friends.

Gail was known for her kindness and generosity which was reflected in the overwhelming love and support from many friends and family over her last few months.
