It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Anne Catherine Flynn (nee Nealon) on Saturday October 19th 2024 in Barrie.
Beloved mom, Nan, Auntie Anne, sister, friend and matriarch of the family. Anne is pre deceased by her husband Barry (2020), daughter Karen (2023), grandson Jesse (2019) and sister Isabel (2024).
She is survived by her son Bryan (Deb), daughter Heather (Ron), grandchildren Wendy (Keith), Andrew (Sarah), Katie (Kyle), Emily (Brandon) and Dan, as well as a great grandchildren Owen and Colin Flynn, Logan and Delilah Langmuir- Jacob, and Jack and Huck Thornley.
Anne also leaves her brother Pat (Norma), sister-in-law Lois and brother-in-law Paul (Linda). Many family members and friends will mourn her loss as well
Anne was a remarkable woman known for her kindness, generosity and unwavering acceptance of all. Her dedication to volunteering at RVH for over 30 years earned her numerous awards and accolades as well as her work with the horticultural society, in particular her early involvement in the development of the Sunnidale park Arboretum.
Anne’s warm and welcoming spirit touched the lives of all who knew her. She always made sure that everyone she met felt like family. Her family meant everything to her. Mom lived her life with a gentle strength, humility and an unforgettable grace.
We are comforted to know that she was greeted on the other side by dad, Karen, Jesse and Isabel. Her Legacy of love, generosity and acceptance will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral home, 30 Worsley Street in Barrie. Visitation at 10:30, service at 11:30, and reception to follow.
