Bonnie Lee Galbraith, age 62, after a tough battle with cancer, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 21, 2024. Born on December 13, 1961, in Montreal, Quebec, Bonnie’s life was marked by her dedication to health and fitness, and her unwavering love for her family.
Married for 25 years to Cameron Galbraith with many memories and events never forgotten, Bonnie’s hobbies reflected her vibrant and active lifestyle. Proud hockey mom to son, Connor, and avid swim mom to daughter, Karah: attending or supporting she was a staunch health advocate, inspiring many with her dedication to wellness. Bonnie was an avid runner and cyclist, participating in everything from daily dog walks with Xyla, her furry friend, to training for half marathons.
Bonnie will be lovingly remembered by her mother, Christine, brother, Gary, sisters, Cindy and Judi, and her cherished children, Connor and Karah; Bonnie will be dearly missed by close friends as well as many relatives.
Bonnie studied Physical Education at McMaster University and graduated with a degree in Kinesiology in 1985. She was the proud owner of Living Fit Personal Training as well as her store Aqua Fast Swimwear where she and her partner provided the swim club with the essential gear. She combined her passion for fitness with her entrepreneurial spirit, working from home while nurturing her family. Additionally, Bonnie contributed significantly at Mountain Equipment Co-op where she was actively involved in events like Paddle Fest, bike races, and leading a running group.
A Time to Remember for Bonnie will take place at Adams Funeral Home (445 St. Vincent St., Barrie) on Friday, December 6, 2024, from 1-3pm where Connor and Karah invite family and friends to celebrate the life of their beautiful mother.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at both Hospice Simcoe and Adams Funeral Home for their caring support, which will always be remembered.
Bonnie’s legacy of love, strength, and passion for health will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
