August 29th, 1941 to May 8th, 2024
Its with sad hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our mother Gillian Margaret Gaudet (Hebbes) on Wednesday, May 8th, 2024, at the age of 82.
Gillian was born in 1941 during the second world war in Portsmouth England, where she was raised by her Grandparents for the first five years of her life. Upon her father’s return from war, her parents had two more children before deciding to come to Canada when she was 7 to start their new life in the small town of Erin, Ontario.
She attended Erin District High School till the age of 17, when she decided she knew more than the teacher, left school, and move back to England to be with her Grandparents.
Gillian dreamed of joining the Airforce and becoming a pilot. Unfortunately, her aviation career would take a different turn where instead she worked as a secretary for both the Avro Arrow and Wardair Canada, both located in Toronto. Her most favourite job was driving around delivering car parts in England and meeting all sorts of people. Later after having children, she decided to be a stay-at-home mother. In those years she raised two daughters who she was most proud of, as well as helped her community by making and delivering home cooked meal for Meals on Wheels, volunteering at the local used clothing store and participating in her children’s school programs.
Gillian was so talented and had some notable hobbies from creating beautiful stain glass pieces and porcelain dolls, beadwork, and playing darts. She loved garage selling, antiquing, playing solitary, and travelling. Most of all she loved taking care of her family where she put her needs aside for the good of her family.
Loving mother to daughters Breanna & Aysha (Graeme) Gaudet, grandmother to Everleigh Brown. Wife of Euclid Gaudet (Separated). Survived by sisters Marilyn (Bill) Vance & Susan (Phillip) Greaves & brother Brian (Barb) Hebbes. Aunt to Christopher, Michelle, & Jason Vance, Michael & Timothy Hebbes, Olivia & Derek Greaves. Predeceased by her parents Ivy (Mahoney) & Brian Hebbes.
A celebration of life will be planned by the family on Saturday, June 22nd, 2024, at her home in Barrie Ontario.
