It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kenneth Alfred Goodyer on September 26, 2024, at the age of 79 years old. Ken was born on June 26, 1945, in Halifax, Nova Scotia to Edith Rose Gosse-Goodyer and Henry Barron (partner). Predeceased by his older brother – Douglas and stepfather William Goodyer.

Ken was a devoted partner/spouse to the love of his life, Sharon, and a loving father to his two sons – Peter (Sandra) and Ashley (Jennifer). Ken was also a proud grandfather to Kayla, Emilee, and Brendan as well as a great grandfather to Nash and Ellie.

Ken was a very hard working and dedicated co-owner/operator of Handy Hardware located in Stroud, Ontario for over 20 years.

Ken’s hobbies and interests helped define who he was. He loved life on the water, boating, cars, carpentry, and scuba diving. In fact, Ken was the youngest registered diver in Ontario and use to teach diving at CFB, Borden, Angus, Ontario.

We find comfort in knowing that Ken’s legacy lives on through the lessons he taught us, the love that he shared and the memories we will cherish forever.

A special thank you to the Long-Term Care Facility – Spencer House, in Orillia, Ontario for all of their kindness and compassionate care.

On Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. an internment will take place at St. Paul’s Cemetery, Innisfil, Ontario followed by a Celebration of Life at Tangle Creek Golf Club – from 1p.m. to 4pm. 4730 Sideroad 25, Thornton, Ontario.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Ontario in memory of Ken would be appreciated.
