Joan Lorraine Gow (nee Prendergast) born February 8, 1932, in Ottawa, passed away peacefully at Royal Victoria Hospital on September 29, 2024, in her 92nd year.

Predeceased by her husband of 71 years, George. Joan will be missed by her children Bob (Liz), and Cindy (Bobbi-Jo), as well as her granddaughters Sheena (Darryl), Keely (Kris) and Caitlin (Keenan). Joan’s younger years were spent in Carleton Place before moving to Malton. She spent many years in the United Church as part of the UCW, a choir member and a CGIT leader.

She and George spent many years with the ACCCC club touring in their various antique cars. She loved to travel to England, Scotland and Ireland.

Later in life, she and George started a Livery Service for weddings and special occasions where they met many celebrities.

Our heartfelt thanks go out to the staff at Woods Park Care Centre for their love and support during mum’s time there, especially to her “peanut”, a wonderful worker who made her smile. A big thank you to the staff at RVH senior care who kept her comfortable during her final days.

A Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date. Donated can be made to Woods Park Care Centre or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
