Alberta Gregoris (nee China) passed away peacefully on Monday, July 8th, 2024 in Barrie,ON surrounded by those who loved her the most.

Alberta was born on July 23rd, 1941 in Italy to parents Giovanni and Maria China (predeceased). Alberta has two younger brothers, Luciano and Giorgio China. She moved to Canada and married on Jun 11, 1960 to the love of her life, Dino (predeceased). She was the loving Mother to Rosanna Gregoris (predeceased) and Larry Gregoris (Dana). Loving Nonna to Kevin O’Connor (Julie), Matthew O’Connor, Meaghan, and Ashley Gregoris. Alberta was a Zia and Auntie.  She was a proud Bisnonna to Wyatt, Hank and Bruce.

Alberta loved to watch old movies, listen to music and play Bingo with her friends. She loved going out on special outings and eating special homemade meals. Alberta had a lifelong friend Antonietta that she loved.  Her phone calls from Italy would bring her much joy and comfort. She was a sweet, thoughtful and gentle woman who was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Alberta spent the last 7 years being cared for by the loving Nurses and PSWs at Roberta Place Long Term Care in Barrie. We want to thank them all for their endless support and care they provided over the years. A special thank you to her cousin/caregiver Lisa who took tremendous care of her in her final years and also her dear friend and roommate extraordinaire, Mary Lynn, who brightened her life every day.

A visitation will take place at Adams Funeral Home (445 St. Vincent St., Barrie) on Monday, July 22, 2024 from 12 to 1:30 pm followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Mary’s Parish (65 Amelia St., Barrie) at 2 pm. Following the Mass an interment will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery (208 Sunnidale Rd., Barrie) with a reception to follow at Adams Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Parkinson Canada would be appreciated by the family.
