With the heaviest of hearts, we announce the peaceful passing at her home of our beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Ann was born in Raalte, Holland on Oct. 18, 1936. Her family immigrated to Canada in June of 1951. Ann peacefully passed on Thursday, Sept. 19, 2024 in her 88th year.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Leo of 61 years, her children Teresa and her husband Joe, and son John, her sister Toni, Brother Marinus and sisters Corrie and Hilda. Predeceased by her sisters Diny and Monnie and brother Antoon. Deeply missed by her furry friend Stella. Will be missed by extended family members and many dear friends.
Visitation will take place at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie on Thursday, Sept. 26, from 6-8 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 65 Amelia St., Barrie the following day on Friday, Sept. 27 at 10 a.m. Interment to immediately follow at the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, 208 Sunnidale Rd., Barrie. Floral tributes are welcomed as Ann had a tremendous passion for flowers. The family would like to thank Colleen Wormsley, Dr. Jacky Lai and Koral Wilsom for their compassion and assistance with Ann's care.
