It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of Marianne Hannan of Barrie, Ontario on July 16, 2024 at the age of 79. Marianne was the beloved wife of Paul Hannan for 55 years. She was the proud and loving mother of David Hannan (Tereena) and Susan Bin (Silvio). Her greatest treasure was her grandchildren – Sienna Bin, Jaxon Hannan, Andrew Bin, Matthew Hannan and Eva Hannan. Also left to mourn are her brother Albert Moll and sister Patricia Middleton (John).
Marianne was a dedicated educator as a classroom teacher and principal. She loved learning, entertaining, theatre, getting time at the cottage, concerts, bridge, travel, spending time with family and she devoted many hours working with and for those less fortunate.
Marianne has now been released from the suffering she has endured with dignity for many years from Alzheimer’s disease. We know that she is now at peace.
A visitation will be held from 4-8 pm on Thursday July 25 at Adams Funeral Home, 445 St. Vincent Street, Barrie, Ontario. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am on Friday July 26 at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 65 Amelia Street, Barrie, Ontario.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Marianne Hannan’s name to the Alzheimer Society of Simcoe County, 20 Anne Street S., Barrie, ON L4N 2C5.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff of St. Elizabeth Care Barrie, especially to Kim and Joan. Your caring and support for Marianne will always be remembered.
