It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Roger Johnson on November 25, 2024, at Hospice Simcoe in Barrie, Ontario, at the age of 81. Born on October 15, 1943, in Ashtead, Surrey, England.  Roger was the cherished son of Marjorie and Kenneth. In 1967, he embarked on a new adventure, immigrating to Canada, where he married his beloved Linda Allen the same year, sharing their lives until her passing in 2019.

Roger’s professional journey was marked by a vibrant career as a business executive in sales and marketing, where his dedication and charisma left a lasting impact. He took great pride in being an active member of the communities in Cookstown and Barrie and was a devoted attendee of Northwest Barrie United Church, where he built many cherished connections.

He leaves behind a loving legacy as a father to Christopher (Janine) Johnson and Jonathan (Julie) Johnson. Roger also held dear the roles of grandfather to Jessie, Taylor, Alec, and Madelyn, as well as great-grandfather to young Hunter. His family was further enriched when he married Marie Bruhn in 2021. He is survived by Marie and her daughters, Kathy and Jeff, Linda and Jeff, and Josie, all of whom he embraced as part of his heart.

Roger is also survived by his sister, Meryl Jinkinson, and was predeceased by his brother, David.

A visitation to honour Roger's life will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2024, from 1 to 4 pm, followed by a Celebration of Life at 2 pm in the chapel of Legacy Funeral Home, 55 Cedar Pointe Drive, Barrie (parking and entrance on HWY 400 side of building). In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Hospice Simcoe (www.hospicesimcoe.ca).

Roger leaves behind a legacy of love, integrity, and community spirit that will continue to resonate through the lives he touched. He will be dearly missed.
