It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Barbara Ann Jones (nee Melson) surrounded by her family at the age of 86 years on July 17, 2024.

She will be lovingly remembered by her son: Randy (Joan) Jones, daughters: Debra (Kevin) McKenna, Carolyn (Grant) Fraser and Brenda (Mike) Amero; grandchildren: Steven (Michelle), Natalie (Adam), Kathryn (Jared), Courtney (Josh), Taylor, Heather (Jon), Allison and Sara; great-grandchildren: Grace, Colton, Bryce and Blair; brother: Ron and sister: Beverley as well as numerous relatives and friends.

She was predeceased by her loving husband of 42 years, William; brother: Douglas; and her parents: Lawrence and Agnes.

Mom was a kind and loving person who was always there to support her family and friends. She was an avid gardener and now as she walks through God’s special garden, she will know that goodbyes are not forever. Goodbyes are not the end. They simply mean we’ll miss you, until we meet again.

Celebration of Life will be held at Adams Funeral Home, (445 St. Vincent Street, Barrie) on Tuesday, July 23, 2024. Visitation will take place from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm with service to follow at 12:00 pm in the chapel. Following the service, a reception will be held from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm. (casual attire appropriate)

Private family internment will take place Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at Barrie Union Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Fighting Blindness Canada, 890 Yonge St 12th floor Toronto, ON, M4W 3P4 or The Canadian National Institute for the Blind, CNIB Foundation,1929 Bayview Ave. Toronto, ON M4G 3E8.

The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at Amica Little Lake. Your caring and support for our mom will always be remembered.
