It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ken Keown, on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at Hospice Simcoe in Barrie, Ontario. Born on April 7, 1947, in Toronto, Ontario Family was of utmost importance to Ken. He dearly loved his family and took immense joy in his grandchildren, fostering connections that will be cherished forever.

Ken dedicated his life to hard work and service, finding fulfillment in his roles moving sand and gravel during the summer months and snowplowing throughout the winters. Ken cherished a remarkable 50-year partnership in business and friendship, a testament to his loyalty and dedication. He had a natural gift for conversation, easily engaging both friends and strangers alike. His warmth and kindness made every interaction special, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

In retirement, Ken embraced his passion for travel, exploring many beautiful corners of the world. Each journey enriched his life further, allowing him to create lasting memories.

Beloved husband of Dianne (nee Henry) for 58 years. Cherished father of Denise Keown, and Jeff Keown (Sylvia). loving grandfather to Kendra, Hannah, Matthew, and Sidney. Dear brother to the late Judith Coutts (Rod), Donna Rocky (Don), Gary Keown (Louise), Patricia Wallwin (Keith), and Douglas Keown. Ken will be forever loved and remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Relatives and friends will be received at Legacy Funeral Home 55 Cedar Pointe Drive, Barrie (Parking and main entrance on Hwy 400 side of building) on Sunday, December 15, 2024 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel at 2 o’clock p.m. Reception to follow. Spring interment Ivy Presbyterian Cemetery.

Memorial donations to Hospice Simcoe, Hospital for Sick Kids Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society, or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
