It is with heartbreaking sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Rick Koscielniak of Midhurst on November 15th at Royal Victoria Hospital at the age of 75 after a valiant two year battle with cancer.   He passed with his loving wife and his sister at his side.

Beloved husband and cherished partner in life to Connie (O'Neill).  Dear brother of Stasia McCullough (Hal, deceased) and Zyg and his wife Helene.  He will be remembered by his brother-in-law Ed (Bev) and sister-in-law Joan (Allan), brother-in-law Jim (deceased) and Heather.

He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews.  He was profoundly grateful for the loving support of Cori and Randy, Holly and Dave, Jennifer and Phil and Dane and Jennie.

Rick was raised in Kapuskasing by his parents John and Jennie (deceased).  He attended Queens University and North Bay Teachers' College and began his teaching career in Barrie where he met and married his wife, Connie.  Lifelong friendships over his teaching career meant the world to him.

He found great joy and contentment sharing the cottage with family and friends.

We are very grateful for his nurse, Robyn, who provided loving guidance through his cancer journey. Her care and kindness is deeply appreciated.

The family would also like to acknowledge the wonderful care provided by Dr Z. Veitch, Oncologist, and Dr. J. Yuen, Family doctor.

He will be missed and loved forever and always for the wonderful supportive husband and family man that he was.  Always in our hearts.

Family and friends are invited to attend the Adam's Funeral Home, 445 St. Vincent St., Barrie, Ontario on Sunday, November 24, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. followed by a short service in the chapel.  All are welcome to stay for a luncheon following the service.

There will be a private family Mass at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
