James William Langman, born July 28, 1938, in Barrie, Ontario.

James William Langman of Barrie passed away on Sunday, September 1st, 2024, at the age of 86, peacefully in his sleep at Royal Victoria Hospital.

Raised on a farm in Flos Township. Oldest of six children to Bill and Mary Langman.

Jim left home to work at 16 years of age and ended up working at Tudhope’s in Orillia, and then at age 18 came to do a mechanic apprenticeship with Dangerfield Motors in Barrie. From there we purchased a B.P. Gas station at Wasaga Beach. He also had many other careers such as the Hub Cap King, Langman’s Mobile Mechanic, real estate salesman, garage sale entrepreneur, small engine mechanic, Moonlight Mechanic, landlord of three buildings, and the first Arctic Cat dealer in Wasaga Beach.

Jim loved fishing, camping, snowmobiling, and visiting his many friends. He immensely enjoyed the Church seniors, Men’s breakfast, games, movie nights, and ROMEO Club.

Jim met his wife, Lynette, at Faith Missionary Church in Wasaga Beach in 1953 and married in April 1958. This was an exciting adventure that lasted for 66 years, and he wouldn’t have missed it for anything. He has two children, Bruce (Mary) Langman and Bev (Dan) Knezacek, eleven grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.

Jim is survived by his brothers Len (Edna), Cliff (Joan), and sister Delores (Mick), and is predeceased by Howard and Bill (Charlene).
