June 19, 1953 - March 3, 2025
Our Billy, much like he lived his life, left us on his own terms and that was that!
Bill loved music and the outdoors: walking, hitchhiking, fishing, campfires and so on. He especially loved Northern Ontario and enjoyed his many years there working with the railroad.
Bill was the much-loved oldest boy of parents Ralph and Ann Henderson and their large, active brood in the Petrolia area. By his mid-teens the family had relocated to Coldwater. He was a welder by trade but later a labourer on the railroad—a pursuit and a life of camaraderie that he embraced.
Especially after the deaths of their parents, his brothers and sisters didn’t get to see as much of Bill as they would have liked. But their affection for him and attachment to him never waned. We love and miss our brother, Billy.
He was predeceased by parents Ralph (1991) and Ann (2000), infant brother Leland (1963), and his cousins Orval (1983), and Slater (2024).
A member of Kettle and Stony Point First Nation, Bill is survived by his siblings Denise, Bonny, Tom, Dan, Debby, Barb, Donna, Cheryl, and Sharon, and their spouses, and 64 nephews and nieces, cousins Wendy and Leland, along with the many friends he made along his journey.
Nothing made Billy happier than to sit back and crank up a favourite tune, crack open a cold one and enjoy the moment. You should do the same.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no public service.
