"Cathy" Catherine Ann MACLEOD (RICCI) passed away peacefully following a brief illness with pancreatic cancer, a few days shy of her 81st birthday.

Born in Thorold, Ontario to James and Catherine Ricci, Cathy was a Nurse. She was passionate about her family and many close friendships. She made fast friends and she cherished all relationships as the closest of connections. She made everyone feel special. Once she knew you, it was friends for life. She was truly an Angel on Earth. Spirituality was important to her and she remembers fondly her time as a Sister in Our Lady's Missionaries

Cathy's loss will be felt far and wide. She is survived by the love of her life for 53 years, husband Reg, adored sons Ian (Paul) and Kevin (Michelle), cherished grandchildren Owen and Regan, sisters Rosemary Hoekstra & Jacqueline MacLeod, sister-in-law Marg O'Connell, nephews Scott Ricci, Jeff Ricci, Pat Hoekstra, Paul Hoekstra, Steve O'Connell, and Michael O'Connell and their families, niece Laurie O'Connell and family, cousin Joann Ricci, furry family Max, Moose, Millie and Mackenzie, as well as many cousins, Godchildren, in-laws, extended family, and friends that became family.

She is predeceased by baby brother Jim Ricci (Marg), eldest sister Donna Taylor (George) and nephews Jimmy Taylor and Greg Taylor, as well as her brother Nicholas who she never met.

Cathy's family would like to thank the staff and volunteers at Hospice Simcoe for their care and compassion during her journey on earth.

Cathy will be deeply missed; however, everyone just gained a very special Angel.

A visitation will take place at Adams Funeral Home (445 St. Vincent St., Barrie, ON) on Sunday, July 7, 2024 from 4-8 pm and again on Monday, July 8, 2024 from 10-12 pm with a chapel service to follow. Following the service, a reception will be held. The family asks that you come in casual attire.

Donations to Hospice Simcoe or your local hospice in lieu of flowers would be appreciated.

Messages of condolence may be forwarded to the family, and livestreaming information will be available through adamsfuneralhome.ca
