Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family at the Hospice Simcoe in Barrie on Tuesday, July 26, 2022. Loving son of Gerald and the late Barbara McBride. Beloved father of Taylor (Melissa) and Braedon. Proud grandfather of Savannah and Avery. Dear brother of Susan McBride and Sharon (Peter) Bowen. Uncle to Adam Bowen (Megan) and Matthew Bowen. Stephen will be missed by many extended family members and treasured friends.
Stephen was well known for his strong work ethic, having recently retired from Honda Manufacturing in 2021 after 27 years of service. An avid fisherman in his spare time, he never missed the opportunity to participate in his favourite event, the Owen Sound fishing derby. His absolute favourite pastime however, was spending cherished moments with his granddaughters, who brought him infinite joy.
A Memorial Gathering will take place at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie on Friday, July 29th, 2022 from 11-1 pm. Words of Remembrance will occur at 11:30 am.
