Passed away peacefully at Georgian Bay General Hospital, Midland on November 18, 2024 at the age of 90.  Beloved son of the late Sir Alphonsus and Mary McNamara.  Survived by his brothers Joseph and Bernard.  Predeceased by brothers Justin, Leo, Alphonsus Jr., and sister Cecelia.  Proud uncle to 17, great uncle to 39, great-great uncle to 16, and great-great-great uncle to 1. 

“Uncle Jim” was a proud 59 yr member of the international brotherhood of electrical workers local 773 Windsor Ontario.  He was also an avid hunter and fisherman who hunted the Ogoki River for over 30 yrs until his 87th year with a cast of good friends; Ian, Martin K., John, Pete and Chris, Armand and Adam, Austin, Tyler, and family members Patrick, Jordan, Martin, Mitchell, Connor, and Owen. 

He will be sadly missed by all -- including the game wardens who used to be in disbelief Uncle Jim was still hunting moose at 87 years young . 

Visitation will take place at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie on Friday, November 22, 2024 from 6 – 8 PM.  A funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Parish, 65 Amelia St., Barrie on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at 10 AM, with interment to follow at St. Mary’s cemetery, Barrie.
