Marjorie and Leonard’s love story began on October 28, 1950, when they exchanged vows and embarked on a beautiful journey together. This year, they would have celebrated 75 years of marriage—a testament to their deep and unwavering devotion. They concluded their final chapter of their love story by passing away naturally two days apart. Marj went to be with Jesus on Saturday, March 8 and her forever sweetheart, Len, followed close behind her on Monday, March 10, 2025.
They were the proud parents of Judy Crow (Jim), the late Jim (Lennie), Deborah Branan (Bob), and Brenda Shaw (Ted). Forever cherished by 11 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren. Marjorie was predeceased by 6 brothers. Leonard was a dear brother of Selma, predeceased by 3 sisters, and 5 brothers. They will be greatly missed by all extended family members.
Together, they created many beautiful gardens and made their home in the Patterson and Ardagh Road area, living in three different houses—two of which were built by Leonard himself.
Leonard and Marjorie loved Jesus with all their hearts and their faith was at the centre of their lives. They helped build Faith Missionary Church, Barrie and were long-standing members of Bethel Community Church. As active members of the Gideon’s International In Canada, they were dedicated to sharing the Gospel by distributing Bibles.
They found joy in life’s simple pleasures, including baking (best butter tarts), woodworking, camping, fishing, boating, gardening, bird-watching, playing cards, watching sports on TV, family gatherings, and most of all, enjoying each other’s company.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to all employees at Grove Park Home and Mulberry Lane for their care and love.
Funeral Service for Marj & Len will be held at Bethel Community Church, 128 St. Vincent Street, Barrie, on Friday, March 14, 2025 at 1pm with visitation at 12pm. Spring Interment will be held at Barrie Union Cemetery. Memorial donations, in their memory, may be made to the ALS Society of Canada, a foundation close to our hearts.
