ROBB, Shirley Ann Tomlinson

Born and raised, and always loved, in Cabbagetown, Toronto. Shirley was a woman who was strong in her faith of people, who loved greatly and deeply. She believed in giving and never asking for anything in return. She understood how hard life could be, but how fun it actually was. She understood poverty and believed love was richness. She believed mistakes didn’t define you as long as you learned from them. Her greatest lesson for her children was for them to walk and talk with the belief “you never give up on yourself or others no matter what”.

Shirley loved to have a good time, to dance and to laugh, to see new sights and to travel. She loved Canada’s Newfoundland and anywhere in the States (especially Las Vegas), but her ultimate vacation spot was the Bahamas. She enjoyed bingo and the horse races. She didn’t do anything she didn’t want to do unless it meant something to someone else. Only then was it important to her. She lived her life the way she wanted to, according to her rules. There are lots of words to describe Shirley; resilient would be at the top of the list.

Long time partner of Ambrose Joseph Ducey of 38 years; predeceased by her husband William Milligan Robb; proud mother of Margaret Kim Robb (Doug McNabb); Heather Ann Robb (Ed Harrington); Shirleyanne Aikins (Brian); William John Robb (Xhari); Jason Robb Arseneault (Michelle).

She leaves her loving imprint on all those she touched including her grandchildren, Sarah, Devon (Amanda), Matthew, Kathleen, Xyrene (Redir), Xylk, Xydney and Xyfr and her great grandchildren Staci, Anthony, Kylie, EJ, Rhaevyn, Vivian, Cameron and Noah.

Special loving mother figure to Joanna (Jeannie) Robb and special Nan to her girls, Misty and Candice. Adoring Aunt of Noreen (Bob Edwards) and many others.

There will be a celebration of life held privately with the family.

In lieu of donations or flowers, a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated or just lift a wee sip in Shirley’s honour.

God bless your soul Mom! You were our angel on earth and now our angel in heaven.
