In Loving Memory of
Eric Alfred Roberts
August 29, 1934 – July 7, 2024
Passed away peacefully with his family by his side at Hospice Simcoe.
Son of the late Herbert and Florence Roberts. For the past 66 years he was the best friend, travelling partner, golf partner and loving husband of Jean Roberts.
There has never been a dull moment since their marriage on April 5, 1958. They have done extensive travel – camping, cruises and bus tours, also enjoying 20 years wintering in Florida.
Dear father of Michael (Karen) of Barrie. Beloved “Poppa” to Kyle (Cass) and Kate-Lynn (Kyle) and “G.G.” to Blake, Brodie and Kyla. Beloved brother of the late Helena (May) predeceased.
Eric immigrated from Peterborough, England with his parents at the age of 14. Over the years he worked at General Electric, Mansfield Rubber, Universal Cooler/Tyler Refrigeration, and retiring from F.K. Machinery.
Eric loved his Chicago Blackhawks and the Blue Jays. His hobbies were golf, curling, model railroading and gardening. He loved his country music.
The family is deeply grateful to the wonderful staff of Hospice Simcoe who took such loving care of Eric in his final days.
Friends and family are welcome to celebrate Eric’s life at Adams Funeral Home (445 St. Vincent St., Barrie) on Tuesday, July 16th from 12 -2pm followed by a private family interment at Barrie Union Cemetery.
In Eric’s memory donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Hospice Simcoe or a charity of your choice.
