It is with heavy hearts that the family of Rita Denise Roberts announce her peaceful passing at the age of 90 in Barrie, Ontario.

Rita is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Byron Roberts. As an adoring mother, treasured grandmother and proud great grandmother, Rita will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her children Dave (Judy), Dan (Kim) and Steve (Sandra), her grandchildren Ryan (Cassie), Colleen, Kara (Ian), Amie (Rich) and Bryce (Jackie) and her great grandchildren Oakley, Makena, Sawyer, Camden, Boston, Paisley and Kennedi.

Rita will be lovingly missed by her siblings Georgette, Colette, Monique and Arthur and is preceded in death by her parents Georges and Delina, her eldest son George, and her siblings René, Lucien and Gertrude.

Rita was a loving woman who valued faith, family and friendship; offering to others great tenderness and care throughout her incredible life. Rita cultivated many friends amongst her meaningful connections through her church, her passion for dancing and her winter getaways to Green Valley, Arizona. Her love for family also fueled many of her connections, no greater than her cherished summer vacations at the Routhier family cottage in Rivière-à-Pierre, Quebec. Rita found immense joy and purpose through raising her four sons - a role that naturally helped to build her love of all sports, food and festivities. Rita will always be remembered for her legacy of unwavering love and loyalty in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

A funeral mass to honour Rita is scheduled for Friday, February 21, 2025, 10am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 65 Amelia Street, Barrie, Ontario. The family welcomes your attendance to celebrate Rita's life, following the funeral service in the Church Hall.

In lieu of flowers, the Roberts family requests donations be made in Rita's name to RVH Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, by calling RVH Foundation at 705-739-5600 or by connecting to their online link https://www.rvhkeeplifewild.ca/donate-today/. Condolences can be made at
