Gerald Frederic Robinson, son of the late Gerald Alton Robinson who was a ranking member active in many Masonic bodies in Ontario and New Brunswick, and faithful to his congregation, Calvin United Church as a mentor, elder, and member of the choir.
Where, along with his Mother Virginia Wright (deceased) of Pembroke, Ontario born in St. John, New Brunswick proceeding Empire Loyalist descent. A dedicated mother and wife who was particular by her outstanding work in crochet and needlepoint. Together Gerald Alton and Virginia raised their family in both Belleville and Brockville, Ontario, where Gerald Frederic attended school.
In Elliot Lake while working as a miner in uranium, Gerald broke his back underground and miraculously recovered, gaining the will to walk from his wheelchair into his steps through college, successfully graduating to achieve and obtain his diploma. His experience and courageous efforts inspired and supported his legacy works in Environmental as an engineer and business developer endorsing health and safety across Canada's workforce. Gerald proceeded to work proactively until his retirement from Workplace Safety & Prevention Services in 2018.
Later, that year in which time his beloved partner of 26 years, Joan fell ill with Lou Gehrig's Disease allowing Gerald to care for her well, and offer support through her tumultuous battle.
On the 23rd day of December, 2024, Gerald willingly let go of his pain and struggle with cancer to embark on the next chapter of his journey. His resilience and loyal, caring, easygoing, and fun-loving nature will be dearly missed, yet rejoiced as his ripple effects sing onward through skylines only to return within the pull of tides.
Gerald is recalled within the conscious awareness of his late common-law wife, Joan Puppi (deceased); lovingly cherished by stepchildren, Alexander Dean Puppi (Christina) and Tanya Puppi; grandchildren, Gabriel Puppi and Milena Puppi; his son, Michael Mallette (Sarah); daughter, Tammy Dufresne (Josh); grandson, Colby Brown-Mallette; and his stepson who was warmly embraced and cared for in his upbringing, Joseph Mallette (deceased).
He will be dearly missed by his brother and sisters who are left to mourn in his passing: Jayne Levoy (Roger); and Susan Baltgailis (Mike Leger), and his younger brother, John Robinson (Karen Styles).
His kind and gentle spirit, and willingness to always lend a helping hand will never be forgotten. Especially honoured by friends and teams of his horseshoe tournaments, hunting camps, and on Canada's great lakes where he connected with his fellow fisherman friends.
Residing in memories towards the celebration of his life he will be remembered by: nieces and nephews; his cousins in and around Ontario and New Brunswick, Canada; extended family and friends; work associates; Per Aten; and the many people who he has taken pleasure to encounter and the lives that have been illuminated along the way.
Visitation will be held from 4-8pm on Friday, January 3rd, and 11am -1pm on Saturday, January 4, 2024, in the Adams Funeral Home visitation suite (445 St. Vincent Street, Barrie). The Funeral Service will begin following visitation at 1 o'clock on Saturday, January 4, in the Adams Funeral Home chapel. A reception will be held in the funeral home reception lounge following the service.
