It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Dean Alex Sheremeta Junior on December 23, 2024 at the age of 46. He was born on August 28, 1978 in Kapuskasing, Ontario.
Dean’s presence would light up a room wherever he went and he loved making people laugh. One of his favourite pastimes was going to the family camp up the Remi River near Kapuskasing to fish. Sports was his thing whether it was football or hockey. He was known to have three televisions on the go at the same time. The Philadelphia Flyers was his favourite hockey team and theTampa Bay Buccaneers was his current football team because wherever Tom Brady played Dean followed him of course! He also enjoyed playing golf. Dean’s favourite line was “Let’s gooooo!!” How many people have heard that several times over the years? If you were his lifelong friend or a new acquaintance you probably heard many sentences ending with “Pal”.
He will be forever loved by his mother Louise Piche Stevens (Frank) and his father Dean Ray Sheremeta (Ghislaine).
Dean is survived by his three children with his first love Sharon McKnight. He was very proud of his sons. Austin (Nikki), Brandon, and Carson will forever miss their dad. He loved to brag about them on Facebook with an endearing and funny comment.
Dean’s memory lives on with his sister Renee (Jeff), his brother Jamie (Barbara) and sister Melissa (Tyrone). His memory will be cherished by his nieces and nephews, Madelyn, Jacob, Luke, Dru, Leigha, Janelle, and Tyree along with many uncles, aunts and cousins.
Dean will be forever held lovingly in his partner Anjie Francavilla’s heart.
His many friends will find comfort in his memory and their stories.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations may be given to the Mental Health Association in Dean’s name.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, January 19, 2025 from 1 to 4 pm at the South Shore Community Centre at the Waterfront in Barrie. Family and friends are invited to come and share fond memories and stories. Everyone is welcome to dress casually. We know Dean would have liked it if you wore jerseys and/or hats in memory of him.
