Unexpectedly passed on Tuesday, January 2nd, 2024 at his home in Craighurst at the age of 69 years. Beloved husband of Vilma (née Ongaro) for 45 years. Loving father of Christian (Melissa) and Tiana (Tomasz). Proud Opa of Kalina and Tillie. Will be missed by his brothers Alois, George, his brother-in-law Deni and sister-in-law Rita. Hermann will be sadly missed by his extended family, many friends and colleagues at Struthmann Enterprises Ltd.

He loved being around friends and travelling, especially to Italy and Germany. He enjoyed travelling to the states for business trips to visit suppliers and trade shows, being at the cottage, boating, fishing off the dock, manicuring his lawn and gardens, snow removal the proper way with his tractor, moving rocks around at the cottage and building his decks. This man absolutely loved driving around visiting his customers all over Ontario. He enjoyed playing piano and singing in the choir at St Mary’s church. Hermann had an insane work ethic, taking great pride in his many accomplishments. His family often enjoyed the fruits of his labour and he enjoyed watching them do so.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, January 4th, 2024 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie. Funeral Mass will take place the following day on Friday, January 5th, 2024 at 10 am at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 65 Amelia St., Barrie. An interment will immediately follow the Funeral Mass at the St. Mary’s Cemetery, 208 Sunnidale Rd., Barrie. Reception will occur following the interment at the St. Mary’s Church Hall. Guests may recess inside the Church Hall following the Mass if attending the cemetery would not be desired. Donations in Hermann’s memory may be made to the St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto and are greatly appreciated by the family.
