It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Augustus Leo Tilley on Friday November 1st, 2024 at the age of 83.
Beloved husband of the late Carol Helen Tilley (Heffernan) of 42 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his Daughter Leeanne (Robert), Son Robbie, Stepdaughter Susan, Stepson Johnny (predeceased), Grandchildren Malcolm, Ryan and Brittany.
Predeceased by his parents Garland and Sadie (Lucy) Tilley and by his brothers Harold, Twin, Owen (Jessie), Watson, Dave, Woodrow and Otto.
All extended family and friends will deeply miss but fondly remember Leo and his companions Rex and Gizmo.
Leo was born in Northern Arm, Botwood, Newfoundland. He moved to Ontario in his early 20’s where he met his wife Carol and his beloved daughter Leeanne was born in 1971. Leo spent his summers in Wasaga Beach until he and his wife moved there permanently in 2008. He loved Hockey (Pittsburgh penguins and the Toronto Maple Leafs) and Baseball (New York Yankees,Toronto Blue Jays) he also attended his Grandsons Hockey games as much as possible. In his 82nd year, Leo was able to return to Newfoundland where he visited his hometown of Botwood.
A Memorial service will be held at Carruthers and Davidson Funeral Home – Wasaga Beach Chapel, 509 River Road West, Wasaga Beach, Ontario on Saturday November 9, 2024 at 2 o’clock. Reception to follow.
