Kayla Christina Marie West, a beloved daughter, spouse, mother, sister, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on her birthday, June 17, 2024, at the young age of 34, in Barrie, ON, the same place where she entered the world on June 17, 1990.

Kayla was the cherished daughter of Norman Bruce West and Annette Simo (Simon), who instilled in her a love for life and a compassionate spirit that touched all who knew her. Kayla will always be remembered for her huge heart, strong will, and unwavering passion for singing. Her love of music and tarantulas added depth to her vibrant personality, creating a unique individual who brought joy to those around her. Kayla's dedication to her family was unmatched, and she was known as an amazing mother to her children, Aiden, Ryden, and Rachel. In addition to her parents, Kayla is survived by her devoted spouse, John, who stood by her side through thick and thin. She also leaves behind her brother Jason and sisters, Chantal (Keith) and Jessica (Ryan), who shared countless memories and laughter with Kayla. Her grandparents, Maynard (the late Joan) and Gail (the late Mike), held a special place in her heart, and she adored her nephews, Stuart, Alex, and Donald, as well as her nieces, Jessica, Emma, Christine, and Harlow, who brought her immense joy and pride. Kayla's presence brightened every room she entered, and her kindness and compassion touched the lives of many. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May her soul rest in peace, surrounded by the melodies of her favorite songs, sung by the angels above.

Friends may visit with the family at the Steven R. Bridge Funeral Home, 207 Mill Street, Angus, ON, on Thursday, June 27th, 2024 from 12noon until the time of the funeral service at 2:00pm. Cremation to follow.
