Passed away peacefully at Victoria Village on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at age 92.
Marg (nee Brennan) beloved wife of the late Joseph "Joe" Whelan. Loving mother of Mary Ann Pope (Tony), Dr. Paul Whelan (Kim) and Greg Whelan (Cathy). Cherished grandmother of Sarah, Erin, Lauren, Jordan, Kaitlyn and Kyla and proud great grandmother to Delaney and Anderson. Dear sister to Joan, Ann and the late John Brennan and aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Marg was an active and dedicated member of the community including more than 30 years service as a volunteer at Royal Victoria Hospital and a member of the Catholic Women's League for 50 years.
Friends and family are welcome at Steckley Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St, Barrie on Sunday, January 27th from 2 - 5 p.m.. Funeral Mass at St. Mary's Church, 65 Amelia St, Barrie on Monday, January 28th at 1:30 pm. followed by cremation.
If desired, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Royal Victoria Hospital or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
