WIEBE, Ed (Eddie) of St. Catherines, ON, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, Barrie, on Thursday, January 18th, 2024, in his 83rd year.
Beloved husband of the late Patricia. Loving father of Matthew (Mary), Wendy Wiebe (Karl Bowley) and Becky Kramer (Cole). Cherished grandfather of Matt, Cheyenne, Cameron, Katey, Abbey, Garrett, Nick and Natalie. Dear great-grandfather of Aiden. Predeceased by his two grandchildren Talia and Nathan. Eddie will forever be missed by the Janzen family and fondly remembered by his many nephews, nieces relatives and friends.
Eddie has now moved on to his next job site. He spent his entire life in the construction business, starting as a 15-year-old carpenter, then pouring basements and building homes. Still working into his late seventies managing some of Niagara’s largest commercial projects. Eddie was always interested in how things worked and how to make them better. In his last days, he was still taking things apart and putting them back together.
The family would like to express a special thanks to Dr. Friesen for all the home visits and special medical attention given to Eddie these past few years.
At Eddie’s and the family’s request, cremation has taken place. A celebration of Eddie’s life will take place at The Manhattan Bar and Grill 405 Vine Street, St. Catharines, on Sunday, March 10th, 2024, from 12noon until 2:00pm.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to Hospice Niagara would be appreciated by the family.
