Alf passed away suddenly and peacefully at home on Friday, July 5, 2024, in Barrie, Ontario.
Beloved husband of Peggy, cherished dad of Jim.
Predeceased by his parents, Alfred Edward and Mary Mallet, and sister, Carrie Mae Chapman (Don). Brother-in-law to Peggy (Gord), Karen (Gary) and Sheena; Uncle to Wayne (Wendy), Tim, Tom (Kari), Tony (Laurie), Rob (Michelle), Kirsty, Dave (Barb), Tawnya, Alli, and Nat (Kirk). He will be deeply missed by many extended family and friends.
He was born on the 21st of February, 1934, in London, Ontario. He loved reading and listening to radio, and had a long career in radio and television broadcasting, starting at CFTJ in 1956 and retiring from CKVR in 1996. He enjoyed church, and his friends at the Salvation Army Barrie Citadel, and Barrie Free Methodist Church.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at the Salvation Army Barrie Citadel (151 Lillian Crescent, Barrie) beginning at 12pm until the time of the Funeral Service at 1 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Salvation Army Barrie Citadel or a charity of your choice in memory of Alf would be appreciated by the family.
