It is with heavy hearts that we announce Joan's passing on Saturday September 14th, 2024.  Although Joan was over 90 years old, it was an unexpected and sudden passing. She is pre-deceased by her loving husband Bob and survived by her son Jeff, her daughter Wendy & her 2 grandchildren Brad & Kerri. She was very close to her two sisters, Pat & Helen. She will be fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews.

Joan was born and grew up in Toronto. She met and married Bob Witherell in July of 1953. She was Bob’s helpmate in everything that he did all throughout life. They even took the family and went to Florida for a couple of years.  Bob and Joan went on many trips over the years. Some were cruises, but many were in their motorhome.  Often her sister Pat would accompany them. She also took up canoeing and kayaking which she thoroughly enjoyed.

Joan became involved with volunteering when she joined the Allandale Seniors' Centre. She really liked being involved with people and got great satisfaction in helping others. She became a Square Dance caller at the insistence of Roger Parson, a good friend of Bob and Joan.  Dancing and calling were big part of her life for many years. She will be missed by her family and friends.

Visitation will be held at the Stroud Presbyterian Church on Friday, September 20, 2024 from 1:30-2:30 with funeral service at 2:30. Burial to follow at the St. Paul’s Cemetery.
