It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Leonard William Wooder. He passed away at Royal Victoria Hospital in his 89th year on September 2nd 2024 with Melody, his close friend and caregiver of 25 years by his side.

Leonard was born on July 16th 1935 in Toronto Ontario and moved to Perkinsfield Ontario when he was five years old. As an adult Len moved to Barrie Ontario where he remained for the rest of his life.

Len met his wife Jean at a boarding house that Jean owned many years ago where they later fell in love and married. Len and Jean spent a lifetime together sharing in their love of dogs and travelling as well as caring for their home.

Len worked as a security guard at the Bayfield mall in Barrie for 15 years. At the age of 60 Len retired to stay home and care for Jean as she had been diagnosed with Alzheimers. He cared for her for 13 years until her passing at home with Len and Melody by her side.

Len was a caring man with a great sense of humour and was an avid reader of James Patterson novels. Len loved helping people and will be missed by many.

Leonard was Predeceased by his parents Archie and Florence, wife Jean, brother Ivan and nephews Terry and Kenny Tessier. Survived by two sisters Ina Ceresney and Carol Tesssier and their families.

Len will also be deeply missed by Melody's daughter Candice and her family. Candice always enjoyed hearing Len's life stories and sending him plates of holiday meals on his favorite plate.

We know Len is in heaven having a glass of red wine with Jean and telling her all the stories of the last 15 and a half years.
