A collision between a pedestrian and a motorcycle has sent two people to hospital following a collision near the intersection of Ferndale and Edgehill drives.
Barrie police received the call shortly before 4 p.m., Tuesday, about the collision near the intersection of Edgehill and Jagges Drive, which left both the rider and the pedestrian with serious injuries.
“Both parties were transported to a local hospital, one by way of an emergency run," Barrie Police communications coordinator Peter Leon told BarrieToday. "I understand the Ornge air ambulance has been requested and is attending to transport to a Toronto-area trauma centre."
The Barrie police traffic unit is on scene and is conducting an investigation into the cause of the collision, he added.
“The road will remain closed until further notice,” said Leon.
What caused it has yet to be determined.
“We will probably be in a better position to comment with more updates tomorrow, but at this point we will notify by way of social media when the road is reopened," Leon said.
