Barrie driver charged with impaired in Kawartha Lakes: OPP

Provincial police say officers responded to traffic complaint after vehicle got stuck in ditch

A Barrie resident has been charged with impaired driving after a vehicle became stuck in a ditch in the Peterborough area last Friday.

Kawartha Lakes OPP says officers were called to Kings Wharf Road for a traffic complaint at around 2 p.m. on March 7.

Kimberly Elliott, 34, has been charged with operation while impaired (alcohol and drugs) and operation while impaired (blood-alcohol concentration over 80 milligrams).

None of the allegations have been tested in court.

In addition, the accused received a 90-day driver's licence suspension and the vehicle was impounded for a week.
