A diesel spill from a truck tank brought Barrie firefighters, police and city workers to Ferndale Drive North this morning.
Assistant Deputy Fire Chief Eric MacFadden said the ruptured tank spilled fuel on the roadway between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Tuesday.
“Our crews put some of our absorbent on it and some of the city department (workers) showed up to help contain it,” he told BarrieToday. “There was an issue with the tank on the truck … that leaked some fuel.”
No one was injured, McFadden said, from the spill, which took place between Edgehill and Benson drives on Ferndale.
There was no information on how much diesel fuel leaked, McFadden said.
Barrie Fire and Emergency Service, Barrie Police Service, a city road crew and environmental services were still on the scene at noon for the cleanup.
