Barrie man, 22, charged in Bradford stabbing; victim in stable condition

A Barrie man has been charged following a stabbing early Saturday morning in Bradford. 

Shortly after 1 a.m. on Oct. 5, South Simcoe police responded to an “assist other agency” call for service in the area of Maplegrove and Kulpin avenues in Bradford.

Upon arrival, police say officers were met with paramedics who were providing medical care to the victim, a 32-year-old Bradford man, who sustained a single stab wound and was transported by paramedics to a local trauma centre. The victim underwent surgery and was placed in stable condition.

A 22-year-old Barrie man was arrested at the scene and was charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, weapons dangerous, and assault.

The suspect, whose name was not released was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

South Simcoe police say they believe this is an isolated incident and there is no threat to public safety.
