ORILLIA — Provincial police were called to a report of a disturbance at a Barrie Road home Tuesday night.
"Officers arrived and located two individuals attempting to leave the" home, states a media release from the Orillia OPP.
The duo were arrested after drugs, weapons, drug paraphernalia and cellphones were "located with them," says the release.
Police say officers seized 34 grams of cocaine, 21 grams of fentanyl, more than $2,200 in currency, digital scales and packaging, three cellphones and three "edged" weapons.
Susan Bazinet, 51, of Orillia, was charged with:
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking (fentanyl)
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine)
- Possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
Jerrica Smith, 26, of Orillia, was charged with:
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking (fentanyl)
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine)
- Possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
- Obstructing a peace officer
None of the allegations have been tested in court.
The accused were scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orillia today to answer to the charges.
