Update (Aug. 6, 10:15 a.m.): Provincial police have updated their information about ride-sharing arrivals at Boots and Hearts.  

The OPP says a designated pick-up and drop-off area, including Uber and other ride-share options, will be accessible via Line 5. Ride-share vehicles will exit Highway 11 at Line 5, travel south to Ridge Road eastbound and turn northbound onto Line 7, entering the single-day parking area at Gate 7D. Upon exiting, they will return through the new gravel driveway leading to Gate 7D and continue northbound to Highway 11.

Orillia OPP is advising of anticipated traffic disruptions and road closures in the area surrounding Burl's Creek Event Grounds in Oro-Medonte during the upcoming Boots and Hearts Music Festival.

Delays can be expected to start in the afternoon on Wednesday, Aug. 7 and continue to Monday, Aug. 12.

"Throughout the event, heavy traffic resulting in delays and temporary road closures should be expected in the area," police stated in a news release.

Roads affected will include Highway 11, Line 7 South, Line 8 South, Line 9 South and Ridge Road East and West, between Barrie and Orillia. 

"Motorists in the area are advised to follow temporary electronic signage placed along local roadways, watch for pedestrians and exercise patience," police said.

The OPP is encouraging those attending the event to view parking and travel information by clicking here.

Single-day parking is to be accessed via Line 9 South.
