Bradford woman, 88, struck and killed near retirement home

An 88-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed by a northbound vehicle at Sideroad 10, south of Line 8 in Bradford on Monday afternoon.

A Bradford senior was struck and killed Monday afternoon near the Eden retirement residence, police say.

According to a media release from South Simcoe police, an 88-year-old pedestrian was hit by a vehicle at Sideroad 10, south of Line 8 in Bradford at about 2:20 p.m. on Sept. 30.

The woman was pronounced deceased at the scene, according to the media release. 

Police say the vehicle involved was travelling northbound when the pedestrian was struck.

The South Simcoe police department's technical collision reconstruction team were called in to further investigate.

"The investigation is ongoing and no further information is available at this time," says the media release.

Police are appealing to any witnesses or anyone with dash-cam footage that was captured in the area at the time to contact police at 905-775-3311 or 705-436-2141.
