City police say they have identified two more suspects in connection to the fatal stabbing of Ryan Babineau in downtown Barrie earlier this month.

Through the ongoing investigation, the Barrie police homicide unit has identified two additional suspects on first-degree murder charges.

The first suspect is a 25-year-old man, who is currently in custody on an unrelated matter and will be charged at a later date. His name has not been released.

The second suspect is 26-year-old Tyler Wren, of no fixed address. He is described as five-foot-six and weighing 188 pounds with a thin build, brown hair, blue eyes, a beard and small facial tattoos under each eye.

Police say Wren is considered dangerous.

Anyone with information about his wherebouts is asked to call 911 immediately.

On Saturday, Nov. 16 at 7:15 a.m., Barrie police and Simcoe County paramedics were called to an apartment behind 16 Dunlop St. E.

A 30-year-old man, who has since been identified as Ryan Babineau, was found suffering from stab wounds and rushed to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.

An autopsy determined the cause of death to be consistent with injuries sustained from a stabbing.

On Thursday, Nov. 21, police arrested 28-year old Cory Greavette, of no fixed address, at a Barrie residence. He has been charged with first-degree murder, aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and disguise with intent.

Greavette is scheduled to appear in bail court via video on Nov. 27.

Anyone who may have information about the investigation can contact Det.-Const. Bruce Bernard at 705-725-7025, ext. 2162, or by email at [email protected].
