A Barrie resident was charged with impaired driving in the Fenelon Falls area early this morning.

Kawartha Lakes OPP says officers were sent to an area business at around 2 a.m. on March 10 to investigate an alarm.

“Upon checking the business, officers located an individual nearby,” OPP stated in a news release. “After speaking with the individual, officers initiated an investigation into impaired driving.”

Jamie Clarke, 41, has been charged with operation of a motor vehicle while impaired (blood-alcohol concentration over 80 milligrams).

None of the allegations have been tested in court.

In addition, the accused received a 90-day driver's licence suspension and the vehicle was impounded for a week.
