Charges laid after vehicle hits stop sign

TINY TOWNSHIP - On Friday June 30, 2017 at approximately 7:52 p.m. members of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a motor vehicle driving erratically.

The vehicle had struck a stop sign at the intersection of Holland Road and Needle Road in Tiny Township, Ontario but did not stop.

Police located the motor vehicle a short time later on Concession 16 East in Tiny Township, Ontario. As a result of their investigation, police have charged the male driver Tylor John Reed (age 29) of Tiny Township, Ontario with:

  • Driving While Ability Impaired contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Driving with more than 80 mgs of Alcohol in 100 ml of Blood contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The driver also received an automatic 90 day driver's licence suspension and his vehicle was towed. He is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on July 13, 2017 in Midland, Ontario.

Many impaired drivers are taken off the roads as a result of calls made to police by concerned members of the public. If you suspect you see an impaired driver, and you are able to do so safely from a hands free device, please call 9-1-1 to report your suspicion.
