City police are investigating a "serious assault" at a public space in downtown Barrie.
The stage area at Meridian Place, just below Memorial Square, had police tape around it this morning.
“It’s isolated obviously to that location; we do have an ongoing investigation,” Barrie police communications co-ordinator Peter Leon told BarrieToday on Monday.
“It was a serious assault that has taken place, but details are limited at this time," he added.
Leon said there could be an update later today.
