A careless driving charge was laid after a two-vehicle collision resulted in a vehicle rollover on Anne Street South at Caroline Street in Barrie on Tuesday evening.

City police were called to a vehicle rollover in Barrie’s south end Tuesday evening for a two-car collision.

Officers responded at 6:22 p.m. on Sept. 3 to the intersection of Anne Street South and Caroline Street and found one vehicle on its roof.

The driver of the flipped vehicle was charged with careless driving after their failed attempt at turning onto Caroline Street when the crash occurred, police say.

“With the traffic volume increasing on city streets with the return to school now that summer vacation is over, people need to be aware of their surroundings at all times and give themselves a little extra time to get where they need to go,” Barrie police communications co-ordinator Peter Leon told BarrieToday.
